Please call 360-545-5941 to request a cancellation.
- More than 24 hours before your rental: Full refund or free reschedule.
- Less than 24 hours before your rental: No refund; one-time reschedule may be offered at our discretion.
- No-shows are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
Weather & Safety Cancellations
We recommend that you check the weather reports for our area prior to booking your reservation. If conditions are determined to be unsafe (high winds, lightning, smoke, or other hazards), renters may choose a full refund or free reschedule. Light rain alone does not automatically qualify as unsafe conditions.
- Ideal (Fishing/Calm/Recreation): 5-10 mph (8-16 km/h) for ideal surface disturbance.
- Challenging (>> 15 mph): 15-20 mph (24-32 km/h) makes fishing difficult and boat control harder, especially in smaller craft.
Weather & Safety Policy
The safety and well-being of our customers is always our top priority. We actively monitor official weather forecasts for the Mason County area leading up to and on the day of your rental. While weather conditions are beyond our control, we take a cautious, proactive approach when conditions may impact safe operation on the lake.
If the forecast includes any of the conditions listed below during your scheduled rental period, we will cancel all affected rentals for that time frame.
On the morning of your scheduled rental, we will contact you to:
- Confirm current and forecasted weather conditions
- Discuss available options
- Offer a full refund or the option to reschedule for a later date
Conditions That Require Cancellation
- Strong Winds (Small Craft Advisory)
Sustained winds of 20–33 knots (24–38 mph / 39–61 km/h).
Whitecaps may form and handling small watercraft becomes difficult. - Gale Force Winds (Gale Warning)
Sustained winds of 34–47 knots (39–54 mph / 63–87 km/h).
Recreational boating should not occur under these conditions. - Storm or Dangerous Conditions
Sustained winds of 48 knots or greater (55+ mph / 88+ km/h).
Conditions are extremely hazardous and all boating activity should be avoided.
Our goal is to ensure every outing on Island Lake is safe, enjoyable, and stress-free. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility when weather conditions require changes to scheduled rentals.
Late Arrivals
Please arrive 25 to 30 minutes early for orientation. Late arrivals may result in reduced rental time.
No refunds are issued for time lost due to late arrival.
Operational Cancellations
In rare cases involving equipment issues, emergencies, or access restrictions, renters will receive a full refund or free reschedule.
Early Returns
No refunds are issued for early returns due to personal preference, weather changes after launch, or rule violations.
Refund Processing
Refunds are issued to the original form of payment. Please allow 3–5 business days for processing.
Community & Launch Considerations
Island Lake Electric & Paddle is a small, reservation-based operation with limited availability. Last-minute cancellations often cannot be rebooked.
